Celeste Brecht is an associate in the Los Angeles office of Knott & Glazier, LLP.  In her second year as a licensed litigator, Ms. Brecht successfully defended to verdict her first federal court jury trial.  Ms. Brecht managed this complex business litigation from filing the removal papers to preparing post-verdict trial briefs.  During the course of litigation, she prepared, defended, and examined corporate, expert, and third-party witnesses; drafted and successfully argued discovery motions, a motion for trifurcation, and motions in limine; prepared jury instructions, the pre-trial conference order, joint exhibit list, statement of the case, and an opposition to the plaintiff’s motion for summary judgment.  At trial, Ms. Brecht prepared and argued trial briefs regarding evidentiary issues, argued oral motions regarding evidentiary objections, and prepared direct and cross-examination outlines for both fact and expert witnesses.  M
s. Brecht also represents Fortune 50 Companies as well as regional businesses in cases involving claims of unfair business practices, breach of contract, business tort, and products liability.  Additionally, she represents individuals in wrongful termination, discrimination, battery, and intentional infliction of emotional distress cases.  Ms. Brecht also represents businesses and individuals in forming various corporate entities and conducting real estate and business transactions.

While attending Southwestern's SCALE program, Ms. Brecht earned four CALI awards in Evidence, Criminal Procedure, Appellate Advocacy, and Taxation Transactions. Additionally, Ms. Brecht's Moot Court team won the J. Braxten Craven, Jr. Moot Court Competition and received the Best Brief Award in Chapel Hill, North Carolina. Ms. Brecht interned for ALJ Diane Arkow Gross at the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission.  Following graduation, Ms. Brecht worked as a law clerk with the Michigan Court of Appeals and gained legal experience working for a boutique business and employment litigation firm in Los Angeles. 


Ms. Brecht earned her bachelor’s degree in Psychology with a minor in Moral, Ethical and Political Philosophy from the University of Michigan.  After graduating with Honors, Ms. Brecht worked in commercial and residential property management in Ann Arbor, Michigan.  During this time, Ms. Brecht also co-authored the largest comparative study of female sex offenders to date, which was presented at the national conference for the American Association of Psychology and the Law in October, 2003.  A
dditionally, Ms. Brecht manages a co-ed softball team, supports the Victory Fund, and recently chaired the 30th Anniversary of SCALE event, held at the California Science Center.
