DEBORAH M. PARKER joined Knott & Glazier LLP in 2003. Since that time, she has litigated cases involving: products liability, general business and contract matters, insurance coverage, telecommunications, trademark disputes, industrial personal injury, real property disputes, and judgment enforcement for Fortune 50 companies as well as regional business entities. In her first year as a licensed litigator, Ms. Parker successfully defended to verdict, along with partner Mr. Glazier, a complex telecommunications and trademark jury trial in Federal District Court for the Central District of California.
In addition to her trial experience, Ms. Parker has developed an expertise in deposition and written discovery, expert witness examinations, motion practice, and trial preparation. In 2006 and again in 2007, she was selected along with only 2.5% of attorneys in Southern California as Los Angeles Magazine’s “Rising Star.” Her achievements were detailed further in a feature article in Super Lawyers Magazine.
Ms. Parker graduated first in her law school class from Southwestern University School of Law's SCALE Program where she was a member of Law Review and won First Place Oral Advocate and First Place Brief Writer in the Moot Court Honors Program. She earned CALI Awards for Outstanding Achievement in constitutional law, evidence, property, administrative law, and torts, the Richards Merit Scholarship, the Dean's Merit Scholarship, and the University Merit Scholarship. While in law school, she served as an extern to the Honorable Dean Pregerson, Judge, United States District Court, Central District of California.
Ms. Parker earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in sociology from the University of California, Los Angeles followed by a Master of Fine Arts degree from California State University, Fullerton. After receiving her M.F.A., she was appointed by the Writers’ Guild of America to work with the writing staff on Star Trek: Deep Space Nine. Following that, she wrote an award-winning independent film and theatrical plays that continue to be produced throughout the United States.
